Its impetus, however, comes not from Down Under, but from Japan in the wake of the Fukushima meltdowns and the resulting summer power shortages in which air conditioning was cut back. As Gizmodo writer Molly Oswaks <a href=\"http:\/\/gizmodo.com\/5926546\/air+conditioned-pants-may-be-the-most-over+engineered-garment-ever\">observed last summer<\/a> \u201cpants with their own built-in A\/C are not as brilliant as my sun-addled mind first thought. Because: shorts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Which logically leads to the next solution, also from Japan (no surprise!): just walking around in your <a href=\"http:\/\/ecooptimism.com\/?p=420\">previously nominated ad-supported underwear<\/a>. At least then the ads would be visible.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ecooptimism.com\/?page_id=693\"><em>Previous Wrongest Product Award nominations<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><i>The <a href=\"http:\/\/ecooptimism.com\/?page_id=693\">Wrongest Product Awards<\/a> will go to those products (and their designers) that embody the least amount of redeeming value while incurring the use of unnecessary, often gratuitous, materials or energy.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>How is this relevant to EcoOptimism, you might ask?
